Right everyone.
Let's make this a community effort, and the biggest thing Mauritius has EVER seen in the rock world.
Please send me an email - sp@etg.mu and let me know how you can help out. We're moving out of the Goodlands house in September (it got sold) so we'd like to do one last one here before we go.
It's going to have to be a ticketed event, I want to keep the cost of tickets as low as possible - in the 250-300rs range. However, we need to cover costs on this one BEFORE the event, so it's imperative that we get tickets sold long in advance.
It should be done on the first weekend of September, so as to do it before any festivals or holidays begin.
If there are ANY profits from BY3 at all, they will be shared proportionally between everyone involved.
My vision for BY3 is to show that COMMUNITY is what builds these things, not one person.
Backyard 3 will be created BY the people - for the people.
Any objections?
Again, if you can contribute, please email me and we will set up a Backyard 3 committee.

Hey man, Tequila-man speaking. Would it be possible to have BY3 on the 30th of August rather than on the first weekend of september? You see Jean-Paul, our lead guitar will be going for training abroad from the 5th to the 15th of september, even if we're not accepted on the main lineup eventually, we would like to share this moment with all the Skeptikal folk. Moreover, the Ramadan starts on the 1st of september, muslim rockaholics might not make it, you might lose humanoid too, considering there drummer is a muslim.
I'm not imposing anything, just suggesting

OK, so it's either 30th August (too cold) or 1st weekend in October - fortunately nothing has been set in stone, so we can make these decisions now.

Right, so in the absence of suggestion, I'm going to set it for Saturday 04 October 2008.
If no-one can give me a good reason why not to do it on that date, then that's when it happens.

Elo everyone about the date of the concert, i think the 30th august is better date simply because almost all schools will starts their end of year exams in october till late november... most students would miss the concert. Can anyone still studying comfirm the start of exams plz. And thanks for considering the ramadan!!!

+1 and the hsc exams also start at the beginnig of october.
It would be a good occasion to push the stress away before the exams

Before my cellphone battery dies.... I've got no power at home at the moment
August is actually just too soon, I think. I will discuss the options with the sponsors, though.

Hello BYSP....
We will not be able to perform on 30th Aug coz our guitarist will be on holiday abroad and September will be Ramadan and our drummer is a muslim...
So we shall be really grateful if you could please consider a later date than September...
Cheers...

And so you see - we can't please everyone.
August is bad because it's very cold, and ramadan is coming. October is bad because some students can't make it.
There just isn't an easy answer, so I will discuss with the sponsors on Friday and decide a date with them.
