Sonic Syndicate is a death metal (?? melodic just like In Flames, but smells like metalcore in the end) from Sweden, formed in 2002. The style is just like I said, a mixture of In Flames, Soilwork, Carnal Forge (for the hard parts) and The Haunted (for the less hard parts). Trashy indeed, but not that much, I would put them in the Gotenburg category anyway (Dark Tranquility) with MORE clean vox than screamo-alike ones.

This is an avant-premiere since the band, although formed in 2002, released only 2 records, "Only Inhuman" being the latest and surtout le plus abouti. Yes, if you heard they won a contest you were right, they did in 2006 and that's why this album is out today on Nuclear Blast. They (strangely?) are being heavily promoted and although they're tagged as metalcore or emo, that isn't exactly that they are (emo IHMO is not a criticism, could be otherwise).

The album is a very good one, with nice catchy riffs and vox that would allow you to sing along;) technical as well, but trust me, you won't pay attention (did you when listening to, say, In Flames?).. it doesn't matter when you're able to grasp the songs and with Only Inhuman, you'll be able to (unlike Satyricon, particularly Rebel Extravaganzza, I'm still trying to understand the music:S). The altered vocals is just perfect (two singers) and suits the music in the best possible sense.

Oh, I nearly forgot.. they have a female bassist (!!!) and as claimed by many, they should put her forward even more, I didn't even know about her when I was listening to the album:S

Anyway, if you're in need of good albums, find this one, on my side it's a 10/10.
